Yumates Cancellation and Refund Policy
Introduction
At Yumates, we understand that plans can change. This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains how cancellations, refunds, and related charges are handled for bookings made through the Yumates platform. Both guests and hosts are expected to familiarize themselves with and uphold this policy to ensure a smooth and transparent booking experience.
1. Types of Cancellation Policies
Each listing on Yumates follows one of the cancellation policies below. The applicable policy will be clearly shown at the time of booking.
1.1 Flexible Policy
- Full refund if cancelled at least 24 hours before check-in
- No refund if cancelled within 24 hours of check-in or after check-in
1.2 Moderate Policy
- Full refund if cancelled at least 5 days before check-in
- 50% refund if cancelled within 5 days of check-in
- No refund after check-in
1.3 Strict Policy
- Full refund if cancelled within 48 hours of booking, provided cancellation is made at least 7 days before check-in
- 50% refund if cancelled at least 7 days before check-in
- No refund if cancelled within 7 days of check-in or after check-in
2. Non-Refundable Fees
The following fees are non-refundable unless required by law:
- Service fees
- Taxes (where applicable, as per government rules)
- Cleaning fees (if the stay has already begun)
3. Early Check-Outs
If a guest checks out early after the stay has started:
- Unused nights are generally non-refundable
- Any refund is at the discretion of the host
4. Host Cancellations
If a host cancels a confirmed booking:
- Guests will receive a full refund
- Yumates may assist guests in finding an alternative stay
- Hosts may be subject to penalties or account restrictions
5. Extenuating Circumstances
In certain exceptional situations, Yumates may allow refunds outside the standard policy. These may include:
- Natural disasters
- Government travel restrictions
- Serious illness or medical emergencies
- Other unforeseen events beyond reasonable control
Supporting documentation may be required.
6. Refund Processing Time
- Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method
- Refund timelines depend on the payment provider and may take 5–10 business days
7. No-Show Policy
If a guest does not arrive and does not cancel:
- The booking will be treated as a no-show
- No refund will be issued
8. Disputes & Support
If you believe a refund was handled incorrectly, you may contact Yumates Support within 7 days of cancellation or checkout.
